Soumya Saklani, KANTAR INSIGHTS

Soumya is presently Managing Director for kantar Insights in East Africa and also the Chief Operating Officer for the WECA (West East Central Africa) region.

Soumya came in Ghana in 2010 to start Millward Brown’s operations in West Africa – opening the Ghana office in 2010 & Nigeria in 2012. Prior to being appointed in the kantar role, Soumya was Managing Director, Millward Brown Sub Saharan Africa, overseeing Millward Brown’s 3 offices (Ghana, Nigeria & Kenya).

Soumya started his career in research in early 90’s in India, and has over the past 20 years, lived & worked in a number of countries – India, Hong Kong (1997-98), China (Shanghai) in 1999-2002, Singapore (2002-2009), and Accra, Ghana (2010-2016). Part of the original team of researchers that started Millward Brown in Asia in 1997, Soumya has over the years gained significant exposure & experience in supporting clients in emerging markets build stronger brands & advertising.

Soumya is passionate about ‘making a difference’ by advising clients on how they can strengthen their long-term brand equity & improve ROI on their marketing & communication activities.

An avid sports fan – Soumya enjoys playing cricket & tennis. Soumya is also a certified private pilot who in his spare time, whilst living in Ghana, flew, light 2-seater airplanes with a charitable organization there that sought to provide healthcare related supplies & education to remote rural communities.

 

Soumya holds a Master’s degree in Business Economics from Delhi University & currently resides in Nairobi, Kenya with his wife & 2 daughters – 13 & 12 year olds.
